Completely matte, finely milled powder from the rose flower. A soft natural pink color which deepens to a purplish red when wet.
As a loose powder it has very poor adhesion, so you will need to augment with base powders which improve on that. Also, a little red iron oxide is not a bad idea to give the color a bit of oomph.
The product arrives as a bacterially controlled powder (all germs and bacteria killed prior to packing). However, once it is introduced into daily use as a loose powder, it will begin to degrade unless preservatives are added.
In a lip product, it is a reasonable, natural alternate to Carmine red (which is animal derived). The color when wetted tends to the blue-red shade. Add to Versagel 350 to get a sticky, wine red vegan lip gloss. Suspended in Versagel or in lipstick bases, the product does not require preservation.
Rose Crush has a slight odor, which is earthy and vaguely floral. Couple with our Coconut Crush to get get a more neutral, warmer hue. See recipes below for more ideas.
