Silica Microspheres # BASESilica-S33
Silica is a mineral found all over the planet -- in sandstone, clay, granite, even in plants and animals! It is the main ingredient in glass.
In cosmetics, it has many uses:
- It is an oil absorbent
- It improves "slip" (how the product feels going on)
- Because of their spherical shape our silicas also scatter light and blur the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
Qualities of our silica include:
- Median particle size is 5 microns
- It is an amorphous hydrated silica.
We would suggest experimenting with Silica at 1% - 15% by weight of the formula for a powdered product.
If you haven't tried working with silica in your formulary yet, we encourage you to sample some. It really improves the performance and feel of the product and it is a very natural addition to the ingredients list.

I am in LOVE with this product! I used it to create my Flawless Mineral Veil, and people love it! I love it, because it is so silky soft, and it does exactly what it says! IT blurs fine lines and wrinkles, improves the slip, is oil absorbent, and hides imperfections. Just using this alone is amazing! I paired this with some rice powder to make a easy mineral veil, or finishing powder for myself, and it is amazing. Use this powder alone as a base before you put on your mineral foundation, and it helps give you a flawless look, and helps the foundation go on smooth and easy!!!! Buy alot of this, because I guarantee you will be amazed! This is one powder you do not want to run out of!

After I use this (@ 100% concentration) my face has a diffused look to it. Absolutely erases blemishes and lines. I have had no problems with dryness. I did have to add pigment to this for people who had a darker color skin tone. It tended to lighten their face.

I must say that I cannot formulate without this amazing product. I use it in my oil control veils as well as other products. It is great for oil absorption and it does hide those unwanted wrinkles and acne scars. It is so silky feeling and worth every penny!

TKB has one of the best prices on Silica. It is an amazing eye shadow base and adds unbelievable silk feel to minerals. I enjoy using a small amount of this in my body powder because it makes the skin soo soft. Not just for the face. Would give 7 stars.

Silica has greatly improved the feel of my matte eye shadows. The oxides have a lot of drag, and adding the smallest amount of silica greatly improves the feel of the product.

I bought these like many others because of the comparison to a very high end finishing powder on the market and I heard glowing reviews! I think just because of the hype I was a teensy let down but it does give a very nice finish when used alone . I intend on making it into a finishing "glow" tinted veil and have high hopes for it! *one thing I really did like about it is that I added to a very heavy mineral foundation and it gave a better finish and slip*

If used as a primer, your mineral foundation will just glide over your face. If used as a setting powder, it smooths out all the imperfections. This is the perfect powder and the low price is just mind-boggling!

I love this powder, as a primer, and a finishing powder. It literally erases the fine lines, and pores. But use very little if using it alone (100%) specially on dark skin, because it looks ashy it used too much. Overall i will give it 10 stars, ( if i can )
