International Shipping

Because it is the most cost effective for small orders, we typically ship via the United States Post Office (USPS). USPS delivers the package to your national post office which in turn delivers it to you! On special request by you, we will also ship Federal Express, UPS or specialized carrier.

Generally, if your order falls under 4 pounds, you are going to get the best rates. Bulky or heavy items such as soap, liquid colors and cosmetic containers tend to result in costlier packages (although they can still be worth it).

We only ship to countries which have reliable postal services such as Australia, Japan, the European Union, etc. If we feel shipping to your country would be too risky, we will let you know.

All of our shipping quotes DO NOT include customs, duties and taxes.  Any such extra costs charged by your country will be your responsibility.  You need to contact your customs office to find out what these might be.

2) If you pay by credit card, that is easiest. We are not going to charge your card until you have reviewed and approved the cost for shipping. If you pay by Paypal, that's fine too. We will ask for more money to cover the extra shipping and if you decide to cancel the order instead, we will refund your money via Paypal, at no cost to you.

3) Twice a week, we review our international orders and we send you a "cost for shipping" quote by email. Here is an actual example of a shipping quote email sent to a credit card customer (13 oz, being sent to Germany)

4) We will send you this email three times before we cancel your order. We send our emails twice a week, so if you do not hear from us in a couple of days, it means we are having problems with the email (your address is bouncing or our emails to you are being blocked or something). If you haven't heard from us within three days, please contact us!

5) As a courtesy, if you decide to cancel your order, let us know! It saves us the worry. We will shred your credit card information or refund your Paypal payment.

6) As we said, we ship on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As soon as your order has shipped, we will send you an email!

Sometimes, customers will ask us to change the customs form to show a "lesser value" or to show the product shipped as a "gift".  We understand this request because it may result in less customs and fees at delivery.

However, we will not accommodate you in this way.  Our employees are uncomfortable with this request.  Also, if we ask our employees to be less than honest on this paperwork, then why would they be completely honest in other work which they do here at TKB?

And, again, any customs duties, taxes or fees charged by your country will be your responsibility.  We do not know what they are, so you need to contact your country's customs office to find out.
