This is so great when I just want a very small amount of color, and don't want to get out the big grinder.

I absolutely LOVE my pestle&mortar! It crushes and mixes all of my minerals seamlessly!

I bought this mortar based on all the great reviews people had made about it, but I went badly wrong... The very inside is made about a porous material so that when you put your pigments inside and begin to mix...they all get stucked in these pores and you lose a great amount of mineral...

I just bought this and made my first eyeshadow- when I went to remove the minerals- most of it stayed in the mortar! I spent more time scraping it out and cleaning it then actually mixing the colors! I will try putting the plastic baggie or plastic wrap inside of the mortar and use the pestle on that! Boom. Problem solved :)

This is wonderful. There is absolutely no way I would be able to grind them as finely in a machine. If you are having trouble scraping your powders out, use a cotton swab to dust the powers out into your container. Clean your mortar with 91% alcohol. Easy peasy.

First of all, this is just cute. Seriously, it works very well for grinding large clumps out of pigments. I find it cleans easily by dusting out with a brush, then using some alcohol or hand sanitizer to wipe it out. For stubborn stains, I use makeup remover followed by alchol. The material is a little porous in spots, but I find very little sticking in the mortar. If it does, just use a small brush to dust it out.

By Maria
WHEN YOU FINISH YOUR COLOR GRIND PLACE RICE IN THE GRINDER AND CLEAN IT OUT. THEN WIPE WITH A TISSUE. IF YOU HAVE A MR COFFEE: COFFEE MILL. THAT INNER PLASTIC RING THAT WORTHLESS CAN BE CUT OUT WITH WIRE CUTTERS. LEAVING YOU A MUCH EASIER BOWL TO CLEAN. ENJOY
