Versagel ME 750

Versagel ME 750

Our Versagel is a vegan & gluten-free product.

3/14/2013 Update: GREAT NEWS! Koren Zander of Enkore Makeup has posted an excellent tutorial on how to work with Versagel. If you have any fears about this product, please click here:

1/21/2011 Update: the spouted bag we are using looks a little different than in this photo. But it is still spouted. Only for the 4 ounce size though. Larger sizes go into a zip lock standup pouch.

Lots of you want sticky sticky lip gloss. You can't really get that with plain old castor oil (the most common lip gloss base). But Versagel 750 was made for you! It can also be used in various other oils, lotions, gels, and etc.

Click on theMore Details hyperlink above for tips on how to work with itand tocheck outhow Lennye works with Versagel mixed with Castor Oil or Lipstick Bases. Or, better yet, click here to see suggestions and formulary provided by our customers: Working with Versagel.

Versagel 750 is crystal clear, odor-free, and super duper sticky. That means it likes to hold onto your lip gloss pigments, glitter, mica, and keep them ONyour lips.

Versagel can be messy to work with, so we suggest you squeeze or spoon it into a zip lock bag, into which you add your ingredients such as colors (call it your "mixing bag"). Zip shut, smush together all the ingredients. When you are done, snip a bottom corner of the bag (just like a pasty chef squeezes icing onto a cake) and squeeze into the final container. Basically, the less you handle it the better!

If you do dirty a spoon or bowl with the material, you will need to clean it with a cleaning solution or spritz with alcohol.

INCI: Hydrogenated Polyisobutene (and) Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer (and) Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer.

1s1s0s0s0sWhat Have I Done
By marsy
I love the consistency sans any processing but once I add color or any other ingredients and try to heat to mix I end up with a lumpy sloppy mess. I have only gotten it right once and the second time I used the same method and am still trying to clean up the mess. I must learn a better way to use this stuff because I do like it. 1s1s1s1s1sHard to find
By Dana
I can say that this product is hard for me to find elsewhere. I am so glad that TKB got this in at and at great value as I will be ordering some soon. I use it for my lip glosses combined with a few other ingredients. It is a great sticky gel product and impossible to remove if you get it on your clothes or dishware. I suggest wearing gloves and an old shirt or apron while using this product and using a plastic throw away bowl and spoon. It is super sticky, but honestly it does make a lip-luscious gloss :)

1s1s1s0s0sAny Suggestions
By regina l
I used the recipe of 4 gram Versagel plus 2 gram castor oil. Worked fine and I put it into plastic pots. After about one week sitting on my shop shelfs it appeared the oil was seeping out of the pots. I opened several and it appears the gloss is evaporating. The pots and labels are very oily and are no longer full. Any one had this problem. I just love the consistency and shine of the combination, as well as my customers liked the few that I sold. Any suggestions.

1s1s1s1s1sA God Send!!!
By Holly
I can't believe I didn't see this before I made my order. This is soooo on my list next order. I've just been starting with Mineral Eye shadows, but I am definitely interested in lip glosses. This is exactly the formula that I would like, and I think it is competitive for the price!

1s1s1s1s1sReason #7 Why I Love TKB!!!
By Amber Rose
I have wanted this product for 6 months! This product is extremely hard to find. I would suggest using disposable EVERYTHING when handling this product. Its an excellent product for lip gloss. It is very sticky and will stick to all plastic measuring spoons and bowls. I have had luck with metal spoons but disposable is a lot cheaper.

1s1s1s1s1sI love it
By ronnessa
Just the thickness I was looking for

1s1s1s1s1sGreat for colored lipbalm
By Pamela
If you can imagine melted bubblegum, this is the texture of versagel. It's so thick, it doesnt really flow easily. I put it in a squeeze bottle with a turret lid, which makes accurate weighing very easy, I can squeeze as little as .25gram (small blop) when the scale gets close to my desired weight. Close the lid, you don't have to touch it, easy peasy. As far as product performance, this ingredient gives a more professional feel to my lip balm. Check out the safety rating on the Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Database, I was pleasantly surprised at the favorable rating. Another great product offering, bravo!

1s1s1s1s1sA must have for lip gloss
By Rene'
This is a very hard-to-find ingredient and one of the secrets of lip gloss with staying power. The price is fantastic and kudos’s to TKB for adding it to their inventory!

1s1s1s1s1sperfect lipgloss
By Jooksta
Although not obvious from the photo, Versagel is absolutely clear and not cloudy. It makes the most perfect lip gloss for me. It doesn't melt and drip down my chin like some wax/oil based products. It doesn't give a glassy shine as I initially thought, at least not the way I use it. I mixed some mica and liquid lip colors and it gives a super long lasting, creamy and slightly glossy finish when applied. I had no trouble whatsoever cleaning up after handling this product.

1s1s1s1s1sGreat product
By Kristina
I am in love with this versagel. It is perfect to use for lipglosses, and you can do SO much with it. I would buy this, and then make the recipe that Kaila has in the recipe section...The rose gloss I think. This is a must buy!

1s1s1s1s1sNeed some help please...
By Denise
I have been looking for this product forever! I would have liked it to be more shiny to reflect the micas and glitters. Does anyone know what I could ad to give this product that "wet look". Thanks!

1s1s1s0s0sNice feel but....
By Lorraine
Not the shiny, glassy look I was hoping for. Has just the right amount of sticky.

1s1s1s1s1sI enjoy this product
By Candy
let me tell you that my glosses where not perfect without this product... versa gel has the right about of stick and hold for my gloss and micas that i use... the only issue i had was when i tried to include it with my normal ingredients... its states that it should be added with oils and waxes before melting which i did and still had the versa-gel clumps... i tried microwaving... still the versa-gel clumps... so instead i let my gloss cool off and hardened... placed it in a sample bag okay a little bigger then squeezed the versa gel in it... and kneaded it... make sure you cut a tiny hole in the bag to squeeze into your lip gloss vials... if it is to big you will not be-able to get it into the tubes... yay! i can't stop putting my new and improved glosses on my lips thanks to your versa-gel TKB Notes: We have since discovered that it is better to melt the Versagel in one container and the other ingredients in another, both at the same time, and then to stir everything together when both are fully melted.

1s1s1s1s1sMade my 1st lipgloss- did that only take 5 minutes???
By Linda
When you have the right materials nothing could be simpler. Just put Versagel in a rolled down baggie, add a few drops of liquid lip color, gorgeous mica, drops of almond oil, squeeze together and viola! You made your first lip gloss. This is the great "go to" goo.

1s1s1s1s0sExcellent for retaining moisture and price can't be beat!
By Vinati
This is great stuff. I gave it 4 stars instead of five because it's not quite as thick as MAC Lipglass but the finish is smooth and non greasy. It doesn't travel despite being heavy and gives a great sheen. Overall, great to use a a straight gloss for mixing. Left alone on lips, this will make them a little fuller by just retaining moisture. Also, used sparingly it's good for taming brows, creating a soft sheen on browbones etc.

1s1s1s1s1sAbsolutely Love It
By Diana
I'm really picky when it comes to my lip gloss. I mixed it with some mica and some sparkle bronze and it is fantastic. Some store bought lip gloss tastes funny. This is completely tasteless and odorless. I added some castor oil for more shine and some vitamin e oil. Stays on very well and my lips feel moisterized.

1s1s1s1s1sA MUST HAVE
By Julia
I have to order the 2 pounds now! I already ran out because I use this a lot! I don't melt it with the other ingredients...I mix it in at the very end and can adjust the thickness and stickyness accordingly! I love it!

1s0s0s0s0sBig disappointment
By Agneta
Unfortunately, I had quite the disappointing experience with this product, after having read all the other reviews and purchasing based on them. Contrary to others' postings, this product comes of pretty much anything, it is NOT super sticky, and does not create the staying power I had hoped for. I used other polyisobutanes, and they were like sap - truly had a hard time taking it off anything. Sorry, but I'll have to go back to them. I probably works well for balms and gloss, but I was deeply dismayed.

1s1s1s1s1sJust add color...
By Lucinda
... and you have a great lipgloss, good as any other. Add waxes and oils if you want, but its great on its own. I add it to a baggie, with micas/colorants and smosh, and then snip a tiny corner off and squeeze into a container = no mess ;)

By Veronica
I use this as the main base for my lip gloss (I add a few different oils to the mix as well), and my customers sing its praises! I use antibacterial wipes or baby wipes to clean up afterwards, and I have yet to throw away a utensil or dish. The easiest way for me to use this is to use a flavor injector. Because the product is so thick, I remove the needle part and then pull it into the syringe to get it out of the bag. I get an exact measurement, and I never have to get my hands dirty. :) After I add my oils and colorants, it isn't as viscous and pulls back into the syringe much easier...then I am able to attach the "needle" so I can inject into my lip gloss tubes. Easy. :)

By Amanda
I was so excited when I got my order of Versagel! I found that using a candle warmer with a small Pyrex bowl works perfectly to heat and melt this and lip balm/stick base! I melt in a little lip balm base with the Versagel to give it a little thickness and more tinting power. Im totally happy with the outcome!!!! TKB Id be lost without you!!!

1s1s1s1s1sMuch Better !
By marsy
I figured it out and have found the perfect way to mix it. So much better than I initially thought and really enjoy working with it and just ran out.

1s1s1s1s1sOh I Likes It!
By Enjoyli
This is part of my signature gloss. I am in love with this stuff.

By monique
I ordered a 2 pound. this is my recipe 2g jojoba oil 5ml of versagel 0.5g vitamin e oil 1 drop of cap 5 1g of cotton candy mica 0.20g of cotton candy flavoring oil My lipgloss is thick. IDK what to do to make it right. TKB trading has recipes online but none of them makes much since. I would like a basic recipe for this item . i think that should be provided with the item since this is a product targeted to the general public and not professional make up markers TKB Responds: Try this: INGREDIENT WEIGHT % 1. Versagel 81.50% 2. Hydrogenated Polyisobutene 10.00% 3. Jojoba Oil 5.00% 4. Vitamin E 3.00% PRODCEDURE: Mix all ingredients and heat slowly to 70-75°C with stirring until the mxture is uniform. Cool to 45°C and add flavour and colour if desired, then fill containers.

1s1s1s1s1sLove it
By Symfani
I use this versa gel for my lipgloss. Creates the perfect consistency for me . It's not slimy or oozy it stays on my lips. It also traps my mica powder and blend it in more

1s1s1s1s1sLove It Now
By marsy
I had a love/hate relationship with Versagel at first but after following directions and others advice I simply love it. It makes the best Lip Gloss and stays on forever .

1s1s1s1s1sPerfect Top Coat Gloss
By Ashley
I recently purchased some liquid lip colors that dry down to a very matte finish. The product itself does not come with a glossy top coat like some other matte lip products, which leaves you to your own devices. A dry matte finish of this kind I find difficult to wear, but the colors are just so pretty that I would hate to have to return them. So while looking for a cheap lip gloss to buy, I remembered that I had this wonderful versagel stashed away in my makeup craft box. I haven't yet found the time to make my own lip glosses, but it is PERFECT as a finishing top coat to matte/very matte lipsticks and lipcolors. Layered over, the effect of my lip color becomes smooth, moisturizing, color-saturated goodness, with a more cream finish. It is not quite as sticky as lip glass, but it stays on the lips for quite a while, even while eating. My lips are full, so I like that it is not terribly shiny either. One day, I will get around to making a sophisticated glitter top coat, for a litte glam. This is definitely a MUST HAVE, whether you like to create your own glosses or just where as is for moisturizing power.

1s1s1s1s1slove it!
By amanda
I mix mine with grapeseed oil. I'm buying more very soon. Love it!

By Mechelle
Not Really Liking This Its Ok But Not Sticky Enough :(

1s1s1s1s1sGreat product!
By Larissa
I was nervous about using this, but it turned out perfect for me! I made a deep pink/purplish lip gloss and it turned out fantastic. It was thick enough that it stuck well, but not so thick that it didn't spread evenly. The finished product kept my lips moisturized, shiny, and the staying power was great.

1s1s1s1s1sCant live with out it!
By shelly
as far as not being able to clean it off of utensils I just heat my double boiler back up wipe it down with a paper towel and then wash it with dawn. The injector I clean with A cheap oil until all the color comes out then sterilize it. TKB Responds: Thanks for the tips!

By Maria
Purchased this based on review and for cutting time of mixing polys. Love it.. Very Thick to put in lip gloss tubes.. however if you heat for 2-4 minutes it melts it a bet. using a turkey baster is your best bet. I gave it 4 Stars because I am looking for a Glass Gloss Base... But I other wise Love this. To me it works better in pots.

By Maria
this is what i did. 4grams versal gel 1 drop castor oil 1 drop almond oil 1 drop white 1 drop red and some true pink mixed in all my ingredients into the gel gave a good mix with some lollipops stick i get from Michaels. and heated the mix for 2-4 minutes depending on microwave oven. then i placed them in these little pill jars for testing.... loving this.. next.. will add some to my lipstick formula .. very moist lips as said from my sister inlaw..

1s1s1s1s1sLove it, super easy!
By Kristen
I love this product. I was worried about how to use Versagel correctly. I read the instructions, and followed. I have made beautiful lipglosses that were excellent gifts and I have heard nothing but raves about the glosses. Would NOT have been possible with out versagel. I cannot wait to play with this product more!

1s1s1s1s1sThe Best Ever Made..
By Tysheca
All i have to say is, i love, love it, i love it...

By Kristen
I just made my very first lip gloss. And I freaking love it. This ingredient does exactly what I want. Now I just need to move up from pots and get doe foot tubs and the injector! (I cannot wait for more of this to come back into stock so I can reorder!)

By Rita
I sm so in love eith this oroduct for my lip glosd. I sm so fissppointed that it is out of syock. @ tkb. When will it be back? I need this to make my lip gloss. This is a must have to make good quality lip gloss. Please let me know as soon as it is back.

By Jaime
This has just the right amount of "sticky" and keeps my lips hydrated in a cold, dry environment! Awesome stuff! Also, it's not hard to work with if you use TKB's idea of mixing it with your other ingredients in a small bag, then clipping a small corner & squeezing it directly into your lip gloss tube.

1s1s1s1s1sVery Nice!
By Toni
This stuff is awesome! Very easy to use in my opinion. I just put some in a disposable cup, added color and fragrance, mixed with wooden stick and used a syringe to pipe into the lip gloss tubes I bought here. I will always buy the small bag because it is nice with the spout.

1s1s1s1s0sVersagel is a nice product!
By Kara
Versagel is awesome for lipgloss. Love the texture! I'm still adjusting to it because it's kind of hard to get into the lipgloss tube with syringe because of its thickness and leaves a mess especially with the liquid colorants I add. It's probably just me still getting use it. It leaves the lips very glossy however and sticks awhile along with castor and vitamin E oil to moisturize.

1s1s1s1s1sWorking with versagel
By Maria
I have been formulation with since Kaila offered to us. This is the lip lacquer recipe and the best way to deal with versa. Lipstick base 8 gramso 4 smidgen silica spheres 1 pinch matte base. 4.1 verbal gel. Total of 28 drops of color choice or blend and a mica to combine of the same color. 1) pretty mix versa with lipstick add color and keep blending with a painters spatula. Put in microwave for 10 sec only. Versagel is very fickle to much heat and things will seperate. Tell me with you think. If you want a more matte add drops of silicone gel . Remember record your drops. Enjoy.

1s1s1s0s0sGood product but the old stuff was way easier
By Emily
Versagel, though feels good on your lips and has a high shine, is near impossible to work with. Even when heated, it takes forever to get the clumps out and it has to be cut with waxes or oils. The old jojoba gloss that TKB used to sell was perfect. It was much thinner than Versagel, but the shine was comparable and it didn't need any prep. You just added your colorants/glitters, stirred it up and it was easy to get into a tube with a pastry bag. The slightly glossier, thicker shine of Versagel is definitely not worth the work. The old stuff was shiny enough.

1s1s1s1s1sCame Out Perfect!!
I love this stuff. I followed the baggie direction for mixing and putting into a round container and love the results. Mixed perfect!
