Eye Shadow Recipes
 
The following recipes accompany TKB's "Mix Up Your Makeup Eye Shadow Kit".  To make these colors, you will need TKB's seven Pop! Mica Colors, Black Mica, TKB's Matte Texture Base and TKB's scoops (one large and one small).  For more details, visit the Mix Up Your Makeup Eye Shadow Kit page.

The ingredients in our recipes are listed in order of TKB's Fail-Safe Four Step Process for matching colors.  We encourage you to follow the recipe exactly, and stop to look at how the color changes between each addition of more color.  This way, you will start to understand how to build and blend your own colors.  Here is TKB's Fail-Safe Four Step Process:

  • First, start with the "main hue" of the color you  are trying to match (is this a "yellow" color?  start with Lemon Drop);
  • Second, add the "secondary hue" of the color we are trying to match (is this a "warm yellow"?  add Strawberry or Tangerine);
  • Third, do you need to tone down or deepen the color?  Then add the "complementary color" of the main hue;
  • Finally, add any white (TKB Matte Texture Base) or black (Black Mica) to adjust the tone.   (If you are making a light or pastel shade, you should reverse things up a bit and start with the TKB Matte Texture Base).

  Red 1/4th tsp Strawberry; 1/8th tsp. Lemon Drop; 1/2 small scoops Apple Green; 1/4 tsp TKB Matte Texture Base
  Yellow 1/4th tsp Lemon Drop + 1/16th tsp Lemon Drop; 1/16th tsp. Tangerine; 1 small scoop Grape; 1/4th tsp TKB Matte Texture Base
  Green 1/4 tsp + 1/8 tsp Apple Green; 1/2 tsp Lemon Drop; 1/8th tsp Strawberry; 1/8th tsp Tangerine;  1/4 tsp TKB Matte Texture Base

 

CRISPS
     
  Ice 3/4 tsp TKB Matte Texture Base; 1 large scoop Blueberry; 1 large scoop Grape
  Midnight 1/8th tsp Blueberry; 1 large scoop Tangerine; 1/4th tsp Black Mica; 1/8th tsp TKB Matte Texture Base
  Lilac 1 tsp TKB Matte Texture Base; 1 large scoop Rasberry, 2 large scoops Grape; 2 large scoops Black Mica
  Grey 1/2 tsp TKB Matte Texture Base; 2 large scoops Blueberry; 1 large scoop Raspberry; 1 large scoop Tangerine; 2 small scoops black mica

 

ROMANTICS
     
  Mauve 1/4th tsp Raspberry; 1/4th tsp Grape;  1/8th tsp Lemon drop plus 1 large scoop Lemon Drop; 2 small scoops Black Mica; 1/4th tsp TKB Matte Texture Base
  Plum 1/4th tsp Grape; 1/8th tsp Blueberry; 1/8th tsp Raspberry;  1/8th tsp Tangerine
  Purple 1/4th tsp Grape; 1/4th tsp Blueberry; 1/8th tsp Raspberry; 1 large scoop Apple Green, 2 small scoops Black Mica, 1/4th tsp TKB Matte Texture Base
